What an important lesson to dwell on. I haven’t been in a relationship for awhile but as I pray for my future husband, I often do so with the mindset that he will “complete me,” that roses will bloom before my eyes the second we meet each other. Thanks for reminding me that only God can complete me. It is so important to be fulfilled in him before seeking a relationship.
This was my first e-mail from you guys and I have to say… I love it! I work in the church world, and it’s very refreshing to see you “messy” and still encouraging women to seek God. On the cup issue, it’s a great example, but one that is usually not provided with practical application (at least as well as in this particular instance). It is great to think of our cups as half full without God, especially knowing (as, dare I say, all of us do) how depleted we feel when we give and give and don’t seek from the Lord. Thanks so much for this bit of teaching!
Lauren!
Yeah, we aren’t perfect around here and don’t try to be-glad you picked up on that! Like you said about giving when depleted, we don’t always know we are depleted until it catches up with us! That is where constant relationship with Jesus shows us how much we need him especially when we are running on empty.
Thank you for this amazing entry. When I first read “Completely Complete” I knew it spoke to me. I am in a serious relationship, and I often I find myself “not happy”. I look to him to make me happy, and while he can do that, there’s something much greater that I need to look to. These entries have just reminded me that complete happiness is through the Lord. I shouldn’t be searching for it in my boyfriend. Thank you!
Sarah, that ice cream seems super yummy and yes, I’m really looking forward to be completely complete in Christ and be overload we God’s love in order to give it back and receive it from others. XOXO and get well soon girlfriend! â¤
We would love for you to know a little more about us. Check out the She Seeks Team page to learn some very interesting facts about those behind the scenes here.
