Hi Trish,

Thanks for your questions. It depends on what kind of protein shake it is-if it is strictly a protein shake (low carbs/fat), or a meal replacement protein shake (complete balance of proteins/carbs/fats). BUT, I would almost always say after, especially if it is a meal replacement shake. The best time to eat a higher carb meal is right after you workout. You will benefit from a protein shake either time though, but getting lean protein in your body within 30-45 mins of a workout is best for maximum results.

Cellulite is a tough one. Along with taking care of your skin with the right lotions/product, lifting weights-increasing muscle and losing fat (which is where is occurs) is going to be the best solution. The more toned your muscle is, and the less body fat you have, should ultimately reduce cellulite.

As far as your workout...it really depends on where you are at/what your goals as to if that will do it for you. I also have 4 young kids, so I understand the hardships of getting to the gym! There is so much you can do with your own body and a few pieces of home equipment that will get you to your goals. But if you are trying to lose a lot of weight-moderate cardio and just training abs/arms might not do it for you, unless your diet is totally on point. Training your larger muscles (lower body, chest/back) will burn more calories for you, and interval training on your elliptical will help you burn fat-not saying you shouldn't work abs/arms, but the smaller muscles won't burn as many calories for as long of a period of time. But like I said, without me knowing where you are at or what your goals are, it's hard for me to tell you what to do!

Hope that made sense. As you can see, I could talk about this all day! Stick with your exercise/good nutrition habits-you can do it!

When is a good time to have a protein shake? Before or after a work out? Is there a way to get rid of cellulite? I have a bit, but not much. I do my elliptical for about 35 minutes 6 days/week. Is this eventually going to do it? I also do weights for my arms and 10 minutes of ab workouts. I have 4 small kids, so I can not go to the gym, so I do this all at home.
