Express Yourself

what makes you tick?

We would be thrilled at the chance to get to know YOU and what makes you tick! This is the place where you can do just that. You will notice at the bottom of each {inspirational entry} there is a short, interesting description of the writer — we call it the “tagline.” Here is the place to put your tagline! Give us a 10-20 word description of who you are, what you love, what you don’t love or anything that tells us about you. Make it fun and interesting or make it deep and thoughtful — that is up to you. Also, you can include your name — or not — you decide.

Example: {your name or not} is a sucker for reality t.v., loves rocky road ice cream, and is just trying to figure out life.

I am a teacher who is passionate about kids and living by faith. I enjoy writing, reading, music, helping others, long walks, and good conversation. I’m trying to seek a balance between working multiple jobs, serving God in various ministries, and developing friendships with others. I often struggle with perfection, anxiety, and depression although I have the “head knowledge” that God loves me for exactly who I am, regardless of how others view me.

Keri August 10, 2009 at 12:52 pm

Keri. I want to know what purpose God has for me and from there learn not to worry what others think and simply allow God to guide me to his purpose in me. I need to learn to shut my mouth when I don’t agree with others. I sure need to fix my attitude and just let God transform me to the beautiful woman HE created me to become instead of creating the monster this world expects. God bless to all.

I am proud mommy. Loves my family to death. Loves the Lord with all my heart. I love positive energy. I am THE procrastinator of all and would like to get rid of that bad habit. I love reading self help books, a big fan of comedy/family/romantic movies. I love to set goals for myself and love to read devotionals and inspirations written by other women. I am true to my friends and families. I would jump to the first opportunity to help someone else. I am a great listener and very willing to change for the better. I am very hard to get to know due to my being shy around people I dont know. But I do open up more to people I trust and is open to anyone to be my friend. I believe in love and God’s word is THE word and I love the internet.

Much love and grace to you.

I am the wife of my best friend, whom I love dearly and I am the mother of a rambunctious 1 year old boy, whom I love unconditionally. I love family gatherings. I can eat chili everyday. I need my coffee every morning. I love learning something new everyday. I love camping. I cannot stay indoors all day, I have to go out at least once a day. I love take out. I love to bake but don’t like to cook. I would like the desire to share Jesus everywhere I go. I love to ponder some biblical stories, how it must’ve been then. I wonder about the future continually.

Kristen is 25 and a proud wife and mother of two. Have lost that time to just be with God and soak in His presence. Trying to get over what everyone thinks. I desire to let God move in my life but get caught up in the “I don’t want to make them mad” metality. Just need to get over it and realize that there are relationships that are going to have to end because they are not going in the direction of God (and that’s where I need the most to be right now).

Janie loves books and her dog, Manny. I have struggled with anxiety and depression for a long time and was ashamed that I wasn’t “perfect”. I have now come to realize that God has a plan to use me and my imperfections in a great way than I could ever imagine. I want to know God’s purpose for my life and to learn how to rely on Him when I feel alone and overwhelmed.
Oh, and I totally love Rocky Road ice cream and the tv show Friends. :)

Tracy – I love music! Any and all types! One day I’ll be listen to slow worship, the next…rocking out to Thousand Foot Krutch with my stereo blasting! I love to fell people’s passion for whatever (especially for the Lord)! I was raised as a preacher’s kid & have gone to church my whole life. I sometimes find myself losing my own passion. I need the Bible to be more than just mere words to me. I know God’s got something awesome for me, just hard to narrow down what that is. Sometimes I feel, like my mind is going in 20 different directions!
PS – Love, love, love Mint Chocolate Cookie Ice Cream from Ben & Jerry’s!!!!

I’m a worshiper, doesn’t matter the genre though rock is my favorite “style”. I have a heart for women’s ministry and have been instructed by the LORD to step into it. We seem to be currently running a home for wayward children. They spend the night and then we end up with custody. Go figure.

Newlywedded into step-motherhood, I have been praying for the strength to endure whatever comes my way. Having a God-given counseling heart, I look forward to meeting women who are in need of Gods grace and care. Mindful of His leading, I seek opportunities to reach lives when I am tending to errands outside or inside of our home. Gods arms are long and strong, never-abandoning and ever-reaching. He is capable when I am not. Cooking, cleaning, organizing, and blessing our home while I am here to study for my degree is the priority God has on my heart at this time. What great returns! I feel very blessed, even though the journey is on rough terrain at times.
